Frequently Asked Questions

What is BNI?

BNI is an established professional business organisation that allows only one person from each trade or profession to join a Chapter. With over 2,700 active Chapters across the World and 54,000 members, it is the most successful business referral organisation of it’s type.

Belonging to BNI is like having dozens of sales people working for you because all the other members of your Chapter carry copies of your business cards with them. When they meet someone that could use your products or services they hand out your card and personally recommend your services.

It's as simple as that! Last year members of BNI passed 2,500,000 referrals, which generated more than £600 million worth of business.

How will networking help me?

Being a member of BNI has a number of obvious and not so obvious benefits.

Members find each other business. This includes personal business that the members pass between each other and external referrals. Every week members bring new business into the Chapter.

Members bring visitors to meetings. Visitors represent new contacts and sources of new business opportunity for all.

BNI Chapters average between 30-40 local business people. Most of the core business skills needed for any project can be found within a Chapter. If your customer has a problem, it is probable you can solve it from the resources within the Chapter.

New members quickly find they are being introduced to contacts in companies and walks of life they had not been familiar with.

Members within a Chapter are extremely supportive of one another. This support goes well beyond finding referrals and a good network of advice.

BNI is an excellent self-development training ground. Members learn how to present themselves and their business concisely and effectively. Members learn how to network effectively at BNI and non-BNI meetings.

For many members who work from home, the Chapter provides a valuable business discipline that helps them stay focused and keeps them in touch with the wider business world.
